On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, Fujian Chunlun Group Co, a tea enterprise based in Fuzhou, Fujian province, inked an agreement in early July to deepen its cooperation with renowned French dining brand Mavrommatis.
“Currently, French tea lovers drink black tea, green tea, floral tea and compressed tea the most,” said Fu Xiaoping, vice-president of Chunlun Group.
She said that since establishing its French branch in 2016, Chunlun Group has promoted Fuzhou jasmine tea in prominent French dining establishments, chain supermarkets and other consumer markets.
“We hope that tea culture can become as popular as coffee culture and be embraced by the younger generation,” she said.
As a province renowned for its tea production, Fujian boasts a wide array of famous teas, including Dahongpao tea, a rock tea from the Wuyi Mountains, Anxi Tieguanyin tea, a premium oolong tea, and Fuding white tea.
In recent years, Fujian tea enterprises have participated in overseas exhibitions and trade and cultural exchange activities to accelerate their expansion into international markets.
