Born in Germany, Marbella resident Christine Heckel comes from a background of hotel management and training. While suffering a serious illness for which she was being treated with a cocktail of medicines that were not as effective as hoped, so she focused on finding her own remedies to aid her recovery and return balance to her body. Now, she lives in Marbella and offers the therapies that helped her to help others.
EWN: Why did you choose Spain, Christine?
Christine: I arrived in Spain in January 2000. I started suffering serious health problems with heavy allergies and asthma when I was in Germany. Since I did not want to undergo traditional treatment any more, I left Germany. As I wanted to live where Spanish is spoken, I ended up in Marbella after having turned down an amazing job opportunity in Mexico City. But due to the high air pollution levels and my health challenges I decided to go to Marbella instead which has its own micro climate.
EWN: What was your life like before you moved to Spain?
Christine: I was travelling and working abroad more or less since I was 19. I had studied tourism, as I always wanted to travel and get to know foreign cultures and countries. So I became a member of the pre-opening and opening management team for hotels.
EWN: When did you first discover sound massage?
Christine: This was in 2008. And I was hooked immediately. Just seeing a singing bowl had an impact on me, kind of knowing and recognising something really ancient within.

EWN: Generally, who are the people who come to you for sound therapy?
Christine: Mainly women, literally all age groups, young women, middle-aged women, and also elderly ones. I would say mainly between 35 60 years. I guess women who are in their late forties, maybe to mid-fifties, entering menopause or similar.
EWN: Have you had a proudest moment in your work?
Christine: Many. When people tell me that my work has made a change and had a wonderful impact on their lives, their families, and their surroundings, I feel proud every time.
I have had husbands writing to me and thanking me for opening this portal for their wives and therefore families, because it shifted the families energies and dynamics, if that makes sense.
Also, when people mention I love your meditations or group sessions, this makes me feel proud.
When people give me positive feedback, I know what I am doing is right. And that is amazing. I simply love what I do.
Christine offers her healing services along the Costa del Sol. You can contact her to discuss what she can do for you via her email at [email protected].
