The Casa de Cultura in Fuengirola is hosting the exhibition Líneas de convergencia’ (converging lines), featuring the combined work of German, Julia Holtmann and Dutch, Els Wiering.
Both artists live in Malaga and have exhibited in their countries numerous times. Els Wiering, a Dutch visual artist, currently resides in Spain and studied at the Minerva Academy of Fine Arts in Groningen. She moved to Spain in 2017 and has since participated in numerous exhibitions in the Netherlands and abroad.
Julia Holtmann, a German visual artist based in southern Spain, has a process-oriented artistic practice focusing on drawing and investigating the slow but immediate qualities of her environment. She has a degree from the University of Applied Sciences of Hamburg and a master s degree in Fine Arts from the University of Malaga. Her work has been exhibited internationally in individual and collective exhibitions and published in various art journals.
Both artists prioritise the process itself and the experience of the moment, with nature playing a key role as a source of inspiration, theme, and medium. The exhibition aims to showcase the combined work of these two international artists living locally, showcasing their unique perspectives on visual expression and their connection to their respective countries.
The exhibition can be visited at the Casa de Cultura in Fuengirola from Wednesday, December 4 to December 20. Entry is free.
