In Torre del Mar, an Italian ice cream, parlour Sicilia Gelati, has just been awarded for some of the best ice creams in the world.
Nearly everybody loves a good ice-cream and the beauty of living in southern Spain is that you can enjoy one all-year-round. But in Torre del Mar, residents are just that bit luckier. They have a master ice-cream maker on their doorstep and finalist in the gladiator of ice cream competitions: the Italian Cup, held in Rome.

Juanma Guerrero, the face behind the accolade has already been awarded Cavaliere del Gelato by the Italian Association of Ice Cream Makers in December 2023. Just under a year later and his ice creams are in line to be among the best in the world. For Guerrero, “ice cream is not only a dessert: it is an art,” and this art is on sweet display at the Sicilia Gelati ice cream parlour on Paseo de Larios in Torre del Mar. Guerrero commented: “It is really exciting to be able to represent Torre del Mar and all of Axarquía in this final alongside the best in the world.”

Guerrero prides himself on his 100 per cent natural ingredients for an authentic Italian product. If you’re the chocolatey type, look no further. Guerrero shot up the charts for being one of the ten best Italian masters for chocolate ice cream! Guerrero recalls that you don’t need to travel to Italy to taste the best ice creams and reminds wide-eyed customers that he caters for gluten-free and vegans too!
