Microsoft will transform Poland into an AI powerhouse, announcing a new training programme to equip one million people with AI skills by the end of 2025.
Microsoft’s big Polish pledge
Microsoft has revealed plans to transform Poland into an AI powerhouse, announcing a new training programme that promises to equip one million people with cutting-edge artificial intelligence skills by the end of 2025.
Building on their previous success in the Polish Digital Valley initiative, which saw over 430,000 people trained and the creation of the Azure Poland Central cloud computing region, Microsoft’s latest move is set to upskill workers across the board from tech novices to developers.
The company’s AI Skills Navigator platform will offer free, Polish-language courses tailored to the needs of individuals and businesses, with support from universities, NGOs, and tech communities.
AI for all: a digital Polish revolution
Brad Smith, Microsoft’s Vice Chair and President, said:
“To benefit from AI, individuals need the skills to use it. This new investment in AI skilling will help ensure that people in Poland can harness this transformative technology across the economy.”
The free-to-use AI Skills Navigator offers more than 200 courses from platforms like LinkedIn Learning, Microsoft Learn, and GitHub. New content, such as the “AI Fluency” course, featuring 44 bite-sized videos, will help learners tackle everything from basic AI concepts to advanced application-building tools like Azure OpenAI and GitHub Copilot.
But this isn’t just for techies the programme caters to everyone. Whether you’re learning to summarise meetings in Teams, structure CVs in Word, or even write code, the platform offers personalised training paths to help workers boost their careers.
Skills today, jobs tomorrow
Poland is stepping up to the AI challenge as demand for tech-savvy employees skyrockets. A recent IDC AI opportunity study revealed that 77% of Polish organisations are already adopting AI or plan to do so within the next year.
Employers are following suit, with a majority (53%) admitting they won’t hire candidates without AI skills. The trend is clear: having AI knowledge isn’t just an advantage it’s becoming a necessity.
Łukasz Foks, Microsoft’s Director for AI National Skills, emphasised the wide spectrum of AI skills on offer:
“From gathering data to creating custom AI applications, the AI Skills Navigator will ensure that everyone, from beginners to developers, can find the right resources to succeed.”
The future is Polish and powered by AI
With 61% of Polish employees already using AI tools at work, Microsoft’s commitment is a timely response to a growing skills gap. By making high-quality training accessible to everyone regardless of experience or location the company aims to secure Poland’s place as a leader in the AI revolution.
The message is clear: AI isn’t just the future it’s the here and the now. And with Microsoft’s help, Poland’s workforce will be ready to take the reins.
