Two of the world s biggest fast-food chains, KFC and Burger King, are “putting their rivalry aside” to offer a unique culinary collaboration with the ‘BFF Burger’.
The partnership is being held in France, where the burger will be available for a limited time only: November 27 to December 16, 2024. Consumers can purchase the BFF Burger in both KFC and Burger King restaurants.
What’s inside the BFF Burger?
The BFF Burger combines some classic ingredients including a sesame seed bun, iceberg lettuce and melted cheddar cheese, while giving customers the option to choose their preferred protein: KFC s crispy fried chicken or Burger King’s flame-grilled beef. There’s also a distinctive white BBQ sauce that’s exclusive to the collaboration.
For vegetarian customers, both chains are offering a meat-free version of the BFF Burger.
How much is the BFF Burger?
According to Le Parisien, the menu price will not exceed €10, although exact pricing for individual items remains undisclosed.
Why are KFC and Burger King collaborating?
In a joint statement, KFC and Burger King announced that they’ve “decided to put their rivalry aside” for what they’ve dubbed the “collab of the century.” The partnership is more than just about burgers – it s a celebration of friendship.
To build anticipation, the two brands have embraced playful marketing tactics. KFC buckets were spotted in Burger King outlets and vice versa, while joint advertising videos feature employees from both chains dancing and singing along to War’s classic song “Why Can’t We Be Friends?”.
The campaign has even extended to social media, where both companies swapped profile pictures to symbolise their temporary truce.
This collaboration is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for foodies living in France to experience a fusion of two fast-food legends. Whether you’re a fan of KFC’s golden-crisp chicken or Burger King’s signature smoky beef, the BFF Burger offers a taste of both worlds. Plus, the addition of vegetarian options makes it accessible to a wide range of dietary preferences.
While the BFF Burger is available for just a few weeks, the campaign reminds us that even fierce competitors can find common ground. As DesignTAXI News aptly put it, “This fleeting mashup keeps things fresh, reminding us all that, sometimes, even the fiercest rivals can put their differences aside for the greater (delicious) good.”
