Murcia ballet

Musical Magic
On December 13, the Unión Musical Cartagonova will put on a special Santa Cecilia concert at the Auditorio El Batel in Cartagena. The concert will showcase the band s wide range of musical talent, offering something for everyone.
The program includes a mix of Spanish pasodoble and highlights from the zarzuela La Torre del Oro by Gerónimo Giménez. But it doesn’t stop there. Festive Fun
THIS December, animal lovers in Los Alcázares are invited to join a festive event in support of abandoned dogs and cats through PAPS and their partner organisations, Los Infiernos Dogs Cats and Malcolm s Cats.
On Friday, December 13, from 10 am to 2 pm, La Zona Terraza, located on Calle Penélope, will host a fundraiser featuring a variety of stalls, a raffle with exciting prizes, and plenty of opportunities to support these much-needed causes. The event is looking for local businesses to donate raffle prizes or vouchers in exchange for recognition at the event.
Those wishing to participate in the event can book a stall for just €10, but advance booking is essential. A variety of items are needed for the charity boxes, including wet and dry food, treats, flea and tick treatments, toys, collars, vet gift vouchers, and cleaning supplies.

San Javier Celebrates
SAN JAVIER’s 2024 Patron Saint Festivities are in full swing, offering something for everyone in the community. The celebrations, which kicked off recently and will run until December 8, are packed with music, culture, and fun for all ages.
The festivities began with the traditional ‘pregón’ (opening speech) from the town hall’s balcony, followed by the popular ‘tapeo’ (tapas tasting) in the town square.
The celebration will feature performances by top artists like Camela (on December 7) and Efecto Mariposa (on December 6). One of the festival s highlights is the Remember Festival Intempo on November 30, where DJ sets will bring the best of 90s and 2000s music, with Kate Ryan headlining.
For families, there’s plenty to enjoy, including the ‘Ruta de las Ermitas’ (The Hermitage Route) and a special ‘silent fair’ aimed at the neurodiverse community. The festival will also honour San Francisco Javier with a traditional mass and procession on December 3, followed by a concert by the Academy of Air Force.
The festivities will wrap up on December 8 with a spectacular float parade, which promises to be the biggest and most exciting yet.

Step back in Time
CARTAGENA’s historic centre recently came alive with the 2024 Medieval Market, turning its old streets into a scene straight out of the Middle Ages. Visitors wandered among medieval-themed stalls, enjoyed cultural activities, and sampled a variety of artisan foods and crafts. The atmosphere was buzzing, making it a highlight for both locals and tourists.
If you missed it, don’t worry! Another Medieval Market is coming soon. From December 5 to 8, Santa Ana’s Polígono Residencial will host its own version along Paseo Florencia and Paseo Sorrento, near the church. Organised by Mercados Arlekin, this event will feature medieval-themed fun with a twist of Game of Thrones inspiration.
