Rincon de la Victoria is leading the way in community care as it launches its revolutionary project, Konekta2.
The cutting-edge technology, financed by the Junta de Andalucía and the EU is set to transform the lives of local elderly people, eliminate loneliness and pave the way for the future of care.
Konekta2 uses motion sensors to track routines of your elderly relatives
Konekta2 may appear like something out of a science fiction movie but it is actually a real initiative, which users motion sensors, trackers, apps and a virtual assistant to monitor our elderly family and friends who live alone. Through the system, the daily routines of our ageing parents, grandparents or neighbours can be traced and a platform sends updates and changes to family members’ mobile apps, ensuring peace of mind.
No cameras and Konekta2 sensors are located strategically
Beneficiaries are Rincón residents over 65 years of age, who live alone and who have collaborative family members. Initially, it will reach 115 users but hopes to expand after two years. There are no cameras to ensure privacy – only sensors at strategic hot spots like the fridge, hallway and doors to trace routines.
Konekta2 technology: combat loneliness and promote autonomy
To combat loneliness and strengthen the autonomy of our elderly generation, a two-way virtual assistant promises a new level of care. It asks questions, receives calls, gives reminders and even maintains conversations with in-built empathic artificial intelligence, which adapts to the user.
Better still, no Internet service is necessary – just a mobile phone or landline!
