The list for most beautiful towns in Spain for 2025 has just been updated and now includes seven more lucky additions.
There’s great news for some picture-perfect towns across Spain. In a new listing, it looks like their magical enchantment might just have won the hearts of some as Letur, Albacete and six other towns make the A-List for the most beautiful towns in Spain, 2025.
For the time being there are 116 winners in Spain (that’s quite a lot if you think about it). Even more when it gets to 2025 and seven newbies join the list.
So, what do these seven beautiful towns have that fit the bill?
Letur in Albacete is renowned for its rich history, cobbled streets and distinctive Islamic architecture. It is one of the most emblematic rural destinations in Castilla-La-Mancha and has been a benchmark for authentic “Spain-ness” for centuries. This is sterling news for Letur, which was heavily hit by the flooding caused by the DANA. Fair play!
Llerena in Badajoz is another kettle of fish. It boasts the same impressive architecture but is more for Renaissance lovers. Its quiet streets and “you can hear a penny drop” ambience is far from eerie – in fact on every corner you are accompanied by a legacy dripping in centuries of rich history
Jerez de los Caballeros: medieval masterpiece with a splash of good wine
Step aside for Jerez de los Caballeros, also in Badajoz (lucky Badajoz!). Nestled in the Sierra de Los Santos mountain range, it has developed its own unique fame for its walled old town, castle, medieval architecture and narrow streets of Islamic origin. For all you wine lovers out there, this town prides itself on its wine tradition.
Let’s not forget Teruel – and in particular its region of La Fresneda. If you’ve ever looked at that typical rustic scene of stone houses and cobbled squares against a backdrop of natural beauty, let it come to life here. Teruel has a double whammy win also flaunting Linares de Mora, the quintessential place for lovers of nature and history with enviable access to natural parks only a stone’s throw from its medieval bridge and rustic hermitages.
In Pozo de la Sal, Burgos, those old miners must have left a solid legacy as the town is built upon its mining history and it has paid dividends. You may have visited all types of museums but here there is a salt museum, amongst several of the wonders that colour this quaint Castilian-Leonese town.
Historical-artistic flair to be found in Berlanga del Duero, Soria
Last but not least is the town of Berlanga del Duero in Soria. Already given the title for being a dual historical-artistic site of interest, its new renown will only continue to boost its natural beauty and architectural masterpieces including a medieval castle and Romanesque church.
If you’ve got a beautiful town in mind, be sure to check the full list or stay tuned for updates for winning additions!
